I wanted to review what all can be symbolized with a simple deck of cards.
Each day is represented by a playing card
First, each day of the year is represented by a card. This means each day has its own individual energy that is at play that we can learn to tune into. This also means that our standard deck of cards is a mathematical representation of our calendar system here on earth. It’s a tool that helps us to forecast the cosmic weather report around us.
It also helps us uncover hidden and subconscious life patterns that may be holding us back. Although we can not change the hand we were dealt at birth, we can figure out how to play our cards right. Once we tune into these energies and become more aware of our high and low expressions, we can stop fighting the waves and find our flow in life.
Let’s do some math with the cards
There are 52 Cards and 52 weeks
There are 4 Suits and 4 Seasons: Hearts (Spring), Clubs (Summer), Diamonds (Fall) and Spades (Winter) represent the 4 Seasons.
Hearts represent fire and childhood as well as love. It rules music and poetry, the arts and beauty.
Clubs represent the summer and the air element. The Club is a symbol for the first leaf of knowledge to come into the spring. This is the second stage of life where we learn and educate ourselves. It rules education, journalism and communication, mental pursuits.
Diamonds represent the fall and water element. Diamonds are produced by us during this stage of life so we can reap the benefits of our hard work. They rule power, protection, material wealth and spiritual values. Diamonds rule trading, big business, merchants and manufacturers.
Spades represent Winter and the element of Earth. There is stillness, hardness and cold here, but also great inner wisdom. Their purpose is to plant the Acorn (Spade) that turns into a seed of knowledge and provides insights for all. They do well with any healing industry or even become esoteric truth seekers.
There are 13 Cards in each suit and 13 weeks in each season.
There are 12 Court Cards: Kings, Queens and Jacks represent the 12 months of the year.
Your Lifepath has your “Sun” card + 12 Planetary Cards = 13. 13 is the number of the Matrix and a powerful esoteric archetype. Here are but a few examples;
12 Zodiac Houses + The Sun
12 Moons + Black Moon Lilith
12 Knights of the Round Table + King Arthur
12 Jurors in Court + the Judge
12 disciples + Jesus
Adding all the values in each suit gives us 91, the exact number of days per season
Adding all 4 Suits together comes to 364. The Joker represents himself and the 4 suits, equaling 5/4ths or 1.25
The numbers tell the story of creation
The numbers 1 through 9 don’t just represent quantities — they tell a story. A story of creation, evolution, and the human journey. Each number carries a symbolic energy that unfolds in sequence, like steps in a divine blueprint.
1 – The Beginning/Seed that is planted
Everything starts with One. It’s the source — the original spark of consciousness. The big bang! Whole, undivided, and containing all potential within itself. It’s unity. Before anything else existed, there was just the One. It’s the seed that gets planted.
2 – The Partner/Diplomat
But even the One wanted to experience itself. So came Two — duality, contrast, polarity. Masculine and feminine, light and shadow. Two brought relationship and reflection — the first sense of “other.” 2 Brings Harmony and inter-connectedness.
3 – Creators
From the meeting of 1 and 2, Three was born. This is where creation truly begins. Three is the child, the result, the first expression of form. It’s creativity, growth, and the joy of bringing something into existence. Traditionally, 1 = Man, 2 = Woman so we get 1+2=3 which equals the child/Gemini of the numbers.
4 – Safe Structure/Guard
With creation comes the need for structure. That’s where Four steps in — solid, grounded, stable. Four is the foundation — the elements, the seasons, the material world taking shape. We need a safe space built by the 4 to express ourselves.
5 – Change/Traveler/Explorer
But life isn’t meant to stay still. Five brings motion. It’s the number of change, freedom, experience, and the unexpected. It represents the human being — dynamic, curious, and alive with possibility. We are all unique individuals that shouldn’t be boxed in.
6 – Responsibility/Judges
After the freedom of five, there’s a need for balance and care. Six is love, responsibility, home, and harmony. It’s where service shows up — the willingness to take care of others and live with heart. Traditionally, 1= Man, 2 = Woman, 3= Child which means 1+2+3 = 6, the number of family. There is increased accountability here.
7 – Wisdom/The teacher/Cup half full or empty
Once we’ve built and lived and loved, we start to look within. Seven is the seeker. It’s introspective, spiritual, and contemplative. This is the number of deeper truths, rest, and reflection. This is how we pivot to understand the laws of the universe.
8 – Power/Chief/Healer/Warrior
From wisdom comes power — not control, but mastery. Eight is strength, abundance, karma, and cycles. It teaches us how to use energy in the material world without losing our spiritual grounding.
9 – Completion/The Priest
Then there’s Nine — the end of the cycle. The elder. The teacher. It’s about letting go, giving back, and living with compassion. Nine is both an ending and a preparation for beginning again — returning to the One, but with everything we’ve learned. The Nine helps us transcend our low expressions so we can rise up the ladder to find enlightenment.
10 – Princess/The Honeycomb
Ten’s help us shine our light, brings abundance and allows us to share overflowing love, knowledge, spiritual values and wisdom. Ten’s are generous with a lot to give. They are like the Ace (1) but have the experience of all the numbers. The Honeycomb is the strongest structure found in nature, it makes efficient use of space and materials, like a beehive.
11 – Jack/The Prince/Master Partner
The Jack’s are represented by 11 which in some ways is a double Ace energy (1+1) or Master Partner energy (1+1=2). The Jack’s help us recreate and remake what is. They are a self generator able to destroy and rebuild the reality around them. They bring creativity to our lives. They are represented by Metatron’s Cube which contains all the solids that are the building blocks of life. It’s a geometrically precise structure for Masculine and feminine. They are second in the Royal Court behind the King.
12 – Queen/Master Artist
The Queen’s help us make everything perfect, noble and true. They embody internal leadership, spiritual leadership and are the most powerful cards in the spiritual spread. They are leaders like the King, but embody the Feminine side of leadership where leading by example is more important. They bring internal mastery. They are elegant and perfectionistic as their pip pattern is a 3x4 grid. This Queen energy is also represented by the Golden Rectangle which brings perfect symmetry. She is the number 12 which is the Ace + Partner = Master Artist or Creator.
13 – King/Master Protector
Finally, there’s the King who commands our collective consciousness and purpose through the cosmos. He helps us command and authorize the world around us, and leads us on a straight path to improvement. The King breaks out of the box and is represented by the number 13 or 4. 13 is broken down as an Ace (1) + Creator (3) = Master Protector. The King’s pip pattern is also symbolized by Phi, which looks like the Chinese symbol for the “The middle way” meaning the King helps us break outside of the box and navigates us on a clear path.
